Goodco Z-Tech lands a contract for over $1M in the Port of Saint John, NB
Goodco Z-Tech, the largest manufacturer of structural bearings and expansion joints in Canada, recently concluded an agreement with Concreate USL Ltd. through its distributor, J. W. Bird and Company Limited, to design and fabricate 57 Goodflex expansion joints in the scope of a project to rehabilitate the Saint John Harbour Bridge in New Brunswick.
Built in the late 1960s, the Saint John Harbour Bridge is 3,937 ft. (1.2 km) long and built from haunched steel box girders on the main span and concrete girders on the approaches. The rehabilitation, which includes the installation of a new deck and the replacement of all expansion joints, began in May 2010 and will be completed in 2011. Goodco Z-Tech will make an important contribution to this project by supplying approximately 2,707 ft. (825 m) of simple bolted joints in two phases: summer 2010 and summer 2011.
